FA Cup visits Orchard Park

We were incredibly fortunate to welcome the FA Cup and Community Shield into school last week.
Last week, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome the FA Cup and Community Shield into school. Palace For Life provides one-to-one and group mentoring for students on our site two days a week, so we were chosen to host the cup for a morning. Many of our students were invited to view the trophies with the opportunity to take photos, as did a number of staff! It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
This week, Ms Ongley led an assembly for all year groups about relationships and consent. The assembly talked about listening and respecting one another in different situations, showing integrity and how to decide when you should pass a concern on to a trusted adult in school. Please talk to your child about what they learnt and get in touch with your child’s Head of Year if you require further information or support.
For Fun Friday this week, students were encouraged to design, decorate and write cards to send to friends. Students were given card templates, coloured paper, colouring pencils and felt tip pens to set their imagination free, show their creativity and share kind words with a friend. Thank you to Ms Pain for running this lovely event.
Congratulations to Elias in Year 9, who has qualified for the next round of the Intermediate Maths Challenge, where he will be competing with some of the best mathematicians in Great Britain from Years 9 and 10.
Yesterday, you should have received an email asking you to vote for our new parent governor. Please read the statements provided by each candidate and cast your vote, using your unique reference number, before 5pm on Friday 13 February. If you have any questions, please email lcarter@greenshawlearningtrust.co.uk.
