Live performances from The Globe Players

On Thursday, The Globe Players delivered two captivating performances.
This week, Years 7-10 have had an assembly from Transport for London who shared safety tips, how to support themselves and others on journeys, how to get support on and off the buses as well as the importance of carrying and using their ZIP cards. The assembly was informative and very well received by studsents. Please support your child in acquiring and using their ZIP cards when they travel.
On Wednesday, we hosted a visit from the National Institute of Teaching Executive Leaders programme. Participants across the country saw our morning routines including year 11 breakfast revision, morning roll call, The STAR provision, tutor time reading, period 0, the interventions in our ELP and year 9 maths. I was full of pride for the warmth and leadership shown by our staff and the excellent behaviour and attitude of our students. You are fantastic!
On Thursday, The Globe Players delivered two captivating performances of Macbeth and An Inspector Calls, both of which are GCSE set texts. This gave Year 9 and 10 students a valuable opportunity to experience these plays live on stage before studying them in class. At the end of the performances, several students asked thoughtful and insightful questions, showing real engagement with the characters, themes, and the actors’ own experiences. Afterwards, the cast commented on the exceptional behaviour of our students and praised the depth of their questions. Thank you to Ms Twyman for arranging this opportunity.
As always, the week ended with Fun Friday, this time karaoke in The Theatre led by Mr Baksh. Year 7 then sang brilliantly during Choir in period 5.
