Year 10 students speak out!

We are incredibly proud of our Year 10 students who recently participated in the Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out’ Challenge.
The challenge is an inspiring programme designed to help young people find their voices and build confidence in public speaking. During an intensive workshop, students mastered the art of speech writing and delivery, crafting speeches based on topics they are passionate about. The progress made in just one day was remarkable, with many students overcoming nerves to deliver moving and thought-provoking speeches in front of their peers.
The workshop leaders were full of praise for the group, describing them as a wonderful bunch of young people. They were particularly impressed by how engaged, enthusiastic, and mature the students were throughout the session. Their exemplary behaviour was a credit to the school, and they noted that they had a fantastic day at Orchard Park thanks to the warm and positive atmosphere created by the year group.
Huge congratulations goes to our school winners: Sanchez, Falisha, Keyanna, Jayden, Alfie, Finley, Noor, and Kacper. These talented individuals stood out for their exceptional delivery and will now move forward to compete for a place in the regional semi-final. We wish them the very best of luck as they continue to refine their speeches and represent our school community.
The Jack Petchey ‘Speak Out’ Challenge is the largest public speaking competition of its kind in the world, funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation and delivered by the Speakers Trust. It aims to equip Year 10 students with essential life skills such as communication, empathy, and self-belief. By providing a platform for young people to share their perspectives, the challenge ensures that their voices are heard by the wider community. The regional semi final take solace on the 23rd March, so watch this space!
