Orchard Park High School

Get ready to double up!

Next week is Double Up Week – and that means double the rewards!

On Monday, Year 7 students took part in the Croydon Schools Athletics Competition. From the outset, their attitude and enthusiasm was outstanding, and they represented the school with pride. Several standout performances earned medals against some of the top young athletes in the borough. Congratulations to Pier, Trey, Sol, Lara and Adesuwa, who each delivered exceptional displays of effort, and to Dara who won gold!

This Wednesday, we welcomed our new Year 7 intake for their second creative and performing arts workshop. It was wonderful to see the students growing in confidence and their enthusiasm and creativity shone through, and we look forward to seeing them again soon as they continue their journey with us. Thank you to the transition team and the arts team for your support.

We’re excited to announce that from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th June, we will be celebrating Culture Week across the school. Culture Day has been a highlight in the calendar for staff and students and this year, Equality club has asked to extend it to a full week. Students will explore and celebrate cultures around the world that are represented in our community. This will include reading cultural short stories during tutor time, learning about global traditions, and embracing the rich diversity within our school. The week will culminate in a special Cultural Dress Day on Friday, where students are encouraged to wear clothing that represents their own heritage or culture. More details will follow.

Next week is Double Up Week – and that means double the rewards! Any student who achieves 100% attendance from Monday to Friday will receive two tokens for the 100% Club instead of the usual one. These tokens can be spent at the Token Shop on Friday.

On Monday 16th June we have our Year 10 to Year 11 transition event. This is a really important event for all parents and carers with children in our current Year 10. The event begins at 4.30pm.

For the remainder of this academic year, students will not have to wear a school jumper. Our summer uniform procedure is on our website. School shorts and a generic plain white short-sleeve shirt are permitted.
