Much to celebrate
We are celebrating many successes this week.
Athletics
This week our Year 10 students competed in the Croydon Athletics competition. Mr Latouche was very proud of their success and we hope Year 9 performs just as well next week. Congratulations to:
- Santos who won Bronze for Javelin.
- Jojo who won Bronze for 200m.
- Kadeeshia who won Bronze for 200m.
- Khyann who won Silver for 100m.
- Daishon who won Silver for 100m.
Dance
Our dance company and the Year 10 dancers attended the ‘Step Around Town’ event hosted by the Royal Academy of Dance on Thursday evening (pictured). It was fantastic to see (and hear) so many parents in the audience supporting the dancers who gave truly impressive performances. Thank you to Ms Ruby and Ms Ongley.
Congratulations
I’d like to congratulate Alex in Year 8 who has been working really hard on improving his work. He is a polite and responsible student and it is great to see his successes. I also want to praise Rocchae in Year 10 who has shown maturity and positivity around school and in lessons. Over half of our Year 11 students are staying until 5.00pm each day to study in the Silent Study Centre. Yesterday, even after that study session, 50 students attended Mr Mohammed’s science revision session. Ms Harper is also extremely proud of her Year 11 English class this week. Well done!
Absences
To be sure that all absences are received immediately, please report your child’s absence on this email studentabsence@orchardparkhigh.net not admin@. Please include the reason for absence along with a copy of the appointment letter where appropriate. Students should be in school every day: being in school means they are flourishing academically and socially.
A reminder that Year 7 parents’ evening is at 4pm on Thursday 18th May.
Have a lovely, long weekend.
Mrs C Moran, Headteacher
