The highlight of the week
Our annual open evening took place this week.
The highlight of our week was open evening. We welcomed hundreds of families through our doors. Thank you to Ms Ongley for her tremendous work, to all the staff supporting during the event and to the hundreds of students who helped as a tour guide or talked to families in subject bases. Today, we held an open morning for the children at Orchard Way and have six further open mornings scheduled, all of which are fully booked. Our prefects have been an absolute credit to the school and their parents: they are conversational, warm and helpful. Well done to you all, and thank you for your commitment to our school.
The special mentions this week are for excellent students in Year 11: JoJo for integrity and maturity, Rihanna for showing drive in French, Bianca for her independent revision (the most impressive flashcards I have ever seen), Patrick for his kindness towards a new student, Fernami for working hard in every lesson, Elvin for his wonderful manners and Jamal and Kemari for being superb tour guides and role models.
Our Personal Development Newsletters for each year group are on our school website and can found here: https://www.orchardparkhigh.co.uk/page/?title=Overview&pid=186 They contain information on the provision for your child across their PSHE lessons, assemblies, Character clubs and House activities.
Today our Year 11 geographers are completing their fieldwork at the River Tillingbourne. We wish them an enjoyable and enriching day. Thank you to Ms Coupland, Ms Fiest, Ms Bryne, Mr Wright and Mr Fallon. Our Fun Friday challenge was House Karaoke. Ms Pain and Mr Headley rocked it! Well done to Yousafzai who won 100 House points.
Finally, a reminder that our term dates and Inset days are on the website for 2023-2024, located here:
