Orchard Park High School

Busiest open evening ever!

Amazing cakes for House Bake Off...

Yesterday we held our Open Evening. A late night for us all, including the 100+ students who volunteered to help, but it has left us buzzing with pride. It was the busiest we have had and our Open Mornings next week are set to be the same. It is a privilege to show off our school to those who have not seen it before. The superb work of every member of staff and the warmth and friendliness of our young people impressed every visitor.

This week, Ms Ongley coordinated our House bake off, where staff and students were challenged to bake a cake representing their house ambassador.

Mr Wright has launched his ‘Adventures in London’ project. This exciting opportunity takes children in all year groups to see the key sights of our cities, starting with the Natural History Museum last week. The trips take place on Saturdays. Students should see Mr Wright to book a place.

As the weather becomes colder, many of you will be purchasing coats for your child. A reminder that coats must be plain black or navy blue (no patterns) and should be appropriate for school. Short fur jackets (for example) are not suitable. Blazers should be worn underneath the coat. Similarly, scarves should be plain black, navy blue or grey.

A reminder that Friday 14th October is a staff training day, so the school will be closed to all students.
