Orchard Park High School

Industrial action: 15th and 16th March

Our plans for Wednesday and Thursday...

Further to my letter dated 10th March, I am writing to update you of our plans to manage the forthcoming planned national and local industrial action on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March. The school will remain open for the following year groups/students only:

Wednesday 15th March

Thursday 16th March

Year 11

Year 8

Families supported by our Safeguarding Team

Year 11

Year 9

Families supported by our Safeguarding Team

Children will receive high quality lessons. They should ensure they have their full uniform and all their equipment for that day. Breakfast will be available at 8.10am as usual.

If your child has not been invited into school and they are entitled to Free School Meals, you will be emailed vouchers by Thursday morning. Should you have any questions on this, please contact Mr Fallon directly on 02087760220 ext. 108 or by email rfallon@orchardparkhigh.net.

The school will be providing remote education for those students not attending school through the Greenshaw Learning Trust website. Students should follow their regular timetable for that day, completing work in their exercise books. As well as staying up to date with their Sparx and KayScience homework, the full curriculum for the day can be accessed here: https://www.greenshawlearningtrust.co.uk/virtual-curriculum

I want to thank you for your understanding and for making alternative arrangements for your child at short notice. Whilst we appreciate the disruption that this may cause to families and our children, we respect the right of our NEU members to participate in industrial action. Orchard Park remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our students and delivering high-quality teaching.

Ms Carly Moran, Headteacher
