Students thrive in financial skills workshop

As part of National Careers Week, our Year 9 and Year 10 students took part in a ‘Thrive’ financial skills workshop.

The money management workshop was a fun and welcoming experience that taught me how to budget money in preparation for when I’m older or even in situations my age now.

They used real-life circumstances and asked us what we would do in them. We then all completed an online survey to further educate us on the importance of budgeting.

Volunteers from Clearwater at the end of the session allowed me and my peers to freely ask questions about their money experiences but also how they got into the career they are working now. They told us about the alternative opportunities they were given, despite the options they chose for A levels, GCSEs, or even the degree they completed, because of the range of extra-curricular activities they participated in which is appealing to modern employers. Overall, I think we agreed the workshop was greatly enjoyed by 10Parks.
