The School Day
The school day is broken down in to five teaching periods. Students are issued a set timetable at the beginning of each academic year. A two week timetable is in place (A and B) made up of 25 lessons per week.
The school opens at 8:10am each morning; students cannot be on the premises before this time. Should your child be involved in an incident before this time parents/carers will be responsible. Students can only remain in school after 3.05pm if they are participating in enrichment or being supervised by a member of staff and have received authorisation e.g. Detention, meeting with teacher, after school club or revision.
Each student has a designated tutor who is responsible for their immediate care, support and guidance. Students meet their form tutors at the start of each day. In addition to this, each year group has an Academic Year Lead (AYL).
After entering through the pedestrian gates, students are to congregate in their respective year group areas, where their roll call will be conducted by their form tutor. Thereafter, their form tutors will lead them into the building.
Parents, carers and visitors are to use the reception entrance. All visitors must sign in for safeguarding reasons.
